Voicepoint implements dictation management solution in Ticino-based hospitals

With 4 regional hospitals and 2 specialist clinics, the hospital group of Ticino (EOC) is the canton’s largest healthcare provider. Over the last few years, EOC has been replacing analogue dictation equipment with digital systems. Following a tender procedure, dictation management software was evaluated to standardise the dictation workflow and manage it from a central location. Upon completion of the procedure, Voicepoint was awarded the project and by introducing Winscribe, dictation can be managed comprehensively at all sites operated by the hospital group.

The dictation management solution for EOC is complemented by Voicepoint’s different administration components. One of these is the Voicepoint Device Administrator for the central management of Philips barcode dictation devices (Digital Pocket Memo 8500). By using this web application, dictation devices of all sites are integrated and managed centrally in Winscribe. This includes all user information, report types, device configurations and firmware. Thanks to integration into the hospital information system (HIS), dictations are all given the correct case information via HL7, eliminating allocation errors.

Voicepoint’s Winscribe dictation solution is now used in over 100 clinics and hospitals in Switzerland. We are delighted to count hospitals in Ticino among our customers besides numerous establishments in the German and French speaking cantons of Switzerland.
